Quality and Certifications
Quality you can measure,
certifications you can trust.
Every MAX case by Panaro is independently tested against internationally recognised standards — IP67, MIL STD 810H, ATA 300 and UN 4H2. These are not marketing claims. They are measurable, verified levels of protection you can rely on when the job, the mission or the shipment cannot fail.
MAX Cases — Certifications & Standards Each badge represents an independently verified test protocol.
IP67 Rating
Rated under IEC 60529, IP67 certifies complete dust-tightness and waterproofness up to 1 metre depth for 30 minutes. Your contents stay dry and protected from fine dust and water ingress, whether in the rain, on a boat, or in a dusty field environment.
MILSPECS
MAX cases meet three allied military standards: MIL STD 810H (U.S. Army — environmental testing for shock, vibration and temperature extremes), DEF STAN 81-41 (British Ministry of Defence) and STANAG 4280 (NATO standardisation agreement). Three armed forces, one case.
ATA 300
ATA Spec 300 defines requirements for reusable shipping containers built to handle the rigours of air cargo: pressure changes, rough handling and stacking loads. Cases certified to this spec are the right choice for equipment that flies regularly — on tour, on assignment or in professional fleet use.
UN 4H2
The UN 4H2 marking is an international approval under United Nations regulations for the safe transport of dangerous goods. Cases bearing this certification have passed standardised drop, stacking and seal-integrity tests, and are authorised for hazardous materials shipment by road, rail, sea and air.
Lifetime Limited Warranty
Every MAX case comes with a Lifetime Limited Warranty covering manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. It is a statement of confidence from Panaro in the quality of their product — and your assurance that a MAX case is built to last a lifetime, not just a season.
Made in Italy
All MAX cases are designed and manufactured in Italy, where Panaro has been building professional protective cases since 1997. Italian craftsmanship means tight tolerances, quality hardware and a standard of production that off-shore alternatives simply cannot match.
Built in Italy for real-world conditions.
For nearly three decades, Panaro has manufactured professional protective cases from a single plant in northern Italy. Every MAX case is moulded from high-impact polypropylene using precision tooling, and every unit is pressure-tested before leaving the factory.
That is why MAX cases are chosen by armed forces, broadcast crews, expedition teams, medical services and industrial fleets — wherever failure is not an option.
ECO Cases — Sustainable by Design Same protection. Same warranty. A significantly smaller footprint.
100% Recycled Material
The ECO Case series is manufactured entirely from 100% recycled polypropylene, giving post-consumer plastic a purposeful second life. Same latches, same foam, same level of protection — with a significantly reduced environmental footprint. When you choose an ECO case, your gear is safe and so is your conscience.
Frequently Asked Questions Answers about certifications, testing and everyday use.
What does IP67 actually mean in practice?
IP67 is a rating under the international standard IEC 60529. The first digit (6) certifies complete protection against dust ingress. The second digit (7) certifies that the case remains watertight when fully submerged to a depth of 1 metre for up to 30 minutes, under controlled laboratory conditions.
In real-world use this means you can confidently take a MAX case into heavy rain, onto a boat, through dusty deserts or into humid jungle environments — the inside of the case will remain dry and dust-free.
Are MAX cases approved for air travel and checked baggage?
Yes. MAX cases are certified to ATA Spec 300, the industry standard for reusable containers designed to survive commercial air-cargo handling. They are also compliant with common airline carry-on and checked-baggage size limits within the MAX product range — just check the external dimensions of your specific model against your airline's published allowance.
For lithium batteries and other regulated goods, MAX cases with the UN 4H2 certification additionally meet United Nations requirements for the safe transport of dangerous goods.
Does MIL STD 810H mean the case is "military grade"?
MIL STD 810H is the current revision of the U.S. Army's environmental engineering test standard. It defines laboratory procedures for assessing how equipment survives shock, vibration, temperature extremes, humidity, altitude and other environmental stressors.
MAX cases are independently tested against the relevant methods within this standard — together with the British DEF STAN 81-41 and NATO's STANAG 4280. "Military grade" on its own is a marketing term; certification against these three specific standards is the verifiable version of that claim.
What is covered by the Lifetime Limited Warranty?
Panaro's Lifetime Limited Warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the product. If your case develops a fault caused by manufacturing — a failed latch mechanism, a seal defect, a moulding flaw — it will be repaired or replaced.
The warranty does not cover cosmetic wear, damage from deliberate misuse, or modifications. To make a claim, please contact our customer service team with your order reference and a short description of the issue.
What is the difference between a standard MAX case and an ECO case?
Functionally, nothing. The ECO range uses the same moulds, the same latches, the same seals and offers the same level of protection as the standard MAX line. The difference is the raw material: ECO cases are moulded from 100% recycled polypropylene, giving post-consumer plastic a purposeful second life.
Both ranges are covered by the same Lifetime Limited Warranty and meet the same core certifications.
Where can I request an official test report or certificate?
For B2B customers, tender documentation or compliance audits, we can supply the corresponding Panaro test reports and declarations of conformity for any MAX model on request. Please contact our customer service team with the model number(s) and the specific certifications you require.
Every MAX case leaves the factory in Bologna having passed the same battery of tests that its certifications demand. Buy once, carry for life.
